The Gujarat State Road Transport Corporation (GSRTC) has arranged for some additional buses and increased the frequency of buses in view of the ongoing Diwali festivities along with citizens’ plans to travel to various places during this period.

GSRTC has decided to run 1,500 additional buses that will benefit the 22 lakh passengers traveling during Diwali vacation. For the arrangement of the same, the state government has agreed to provide GSRTC a whopping amount of Rs1,160 crore. Additional buses will bring total number of buses to 7,560 buses that will travel a total of 38,000 trips covering 26 lakh kms during the festive season.  A total of 1,500 special buses will run from Ahmedabad to cities including Rajkot, Jamnagar, Junagadh, Amreli, Vadodara to Godhra, Dahod, Surat to North Gujarat, and outside the state .
