Terror revisited Kashmir on Saturday when militants lobbed a grenade at a busy market place in the Shopian township injuring 14 people including a Standard III student.Unidentified militants lobbed a grenade on security forces party at Batpora Chowk, which however missed the target and exploded on the road causing injuries to 14 people."All the injured are civilians. Thankfully all of them are stable", said Altaf Ahmad Khan, senior superintendent of police, Shopian.The incident occurred when the market was bustling with activity. The explosion created panic with people running helter skelter for safety. Later security forces reinforcements were rushed to the area to hunt down the militants responsible for the incident."We are trying to identify the militants who lobbed the grenade. We have registered a case and a hunt has been launched to nab the ultras responsible for the incident", said a police official.In a separate incident, J&K police along with the army recovered a large quantity of arms and ammunition from a hideout in Bhoothu Nallah in the Bandipora district of northern Kashmir."On a tip-off Bandipora police and army launched a search operation in Bhoothu Nallah and busted a hideout recovering large quantity of arms and ammunition", a police spokesman said .The recoveries include one RPG Booster, three RPG Rockets, four cylinder plastic jars containing explosive material, 234 AK rounds.Troops of Rashtriya Rifles under the aegis of Romeo Force carried out a joint operation in general area of Gani. Troops discovered a hideout and recovered a cache of arms and ammunitions including 320 rounds of AK-47/Pika, one AK magazine, one GPS-01, three Chinese grenades, 11 Pencil Cell, 10 meter Fuze wire and 20 meter and Brass wire.
