The first-of-its-kind dedicated virtual platform will cater to senior citizens in India seeking employment opportunities.
Senior citizens seeking work opportunities will be able to register on a first-of-its-kind dedicated employment exchange from October 1.
The portal developed by the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment is named Senior Able Citizens for Re-Employment in Dignity (SACRED).
Citizens above 60 years of age can register on the portal and find jobs and work opportunities
As per Social Justice and empowerment secretary R Subrahmanyam, the SACRED platform will provide employment opportunities for the elderly by bringing together various stakeholders.

To facilitate the process, the ministry has written to various industry associations such as Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce & Industry (FICCI), Associated Chambers of Commerce and Industry of India (Assocham), and Confederation of Indian Industries (CII) in its bid to bring about more job prospects for senior citizens.
Eligible senior citizens will be able to register themselves with the portal for finding jobs. They will be required to enter details such as education qualification, work experience and areas of interest.
For the recruiters, jobs will be posted with specifics and the eligibility criteria for applicants.
The SACRED job portal will serve as an enabler for people looking for work and not as a platform guaranteeing employment, the ministry clarified.
