Miffed with Congress for reinstating some local leaders in UP, who had "misbehaved" with her during a news conference in Mathura, Congress spokesperson Priyanka Chaturvedi on Wednesday took to the Twitter and lashed out at her own party, a development which brought embarrassment to the Congress.

"Deeply saddened that lumpen goons get preference in @incindia over those who have given their sweat and blood," Chaturvedi wrote in the micro-blogging site. She wrote, "Having faced brickbats and abuse across board for the party but yet those who threatened me within the party getting away with not even a rap on their knuckles is unfortunate," Chaturvedi wrote in the micro-blogging site.

Chaturvedi was referring to the misbehaviour meted out to her during a news conference on Rafale deal in Mathura.

DNA tried to reach out to Chaturvedi but she was not available for a comment.

The Disciplinary Committee of UP Congress in a statement said, "Based on the intervention of AICC general secretary and in-charge of UP (West) Jyotiraditya Scindia, it has been decided that the leaders, who were suspended, would be reinstated. It is expected that you won't repeat any such behaviour which may affect the party's image."

Among those who had misbehaved with the Congress spokesperson include Abdul Jabar, vice president of UPCC, Umesh Pandit, general secretary of UPCC, Pratap Singh, a former MLA candidate and five other office-bearers.

Meanwhile, Congress spokesperson Charan Singh Sapra has reacted to Chaturvedi's tweet. "Priyanka Chaturvedi displayed her grievances through her tweet. We have disciplinary committee on both the State as well as national level and the committee will definitely take care of this," Sapra said.
