Naxalites today damaged a railway track in Dantewada district of Chhattisgarh, leading to derailment of nine bogies of a goods train, police said.
The incident took place near Kuped village in the Naxal-infested district when the goods train was carrying iron ore from Kirundul to Vishakapatnam in neighbouring Andhra Pradesh. The derailment disrupted rail traffic on the route, police officers said.
Repair works are on and traffic is likely to resume soon, rail officials said.
