The protesting Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) sanitation workers called off their strike on Wednesday.

The North, South and East MCDs' submitted an affidavit in the Delhi High Court claiming the salaries of all employees have been released till January 2016. Delhi HC has asked MCDs to ensure that all sanitation workers are paid and asks the Unions to give lists of who hasn't got salaries. 

Earlier on Wednesday, a Delhi court had fixed to hear a complaint filed against CM Arvind Kejriwal for allegedly misleading the people by stating that municipal corporations are not under AAP's control. The complaint would be heard by the court on February 17.

Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal had made an announcement offering the Rs 551-crore loan to two civic bodies on February 3. Besides a loan of Rs 551 crore, the Kejriwal government has also released Rs 142 crore to the North Delhi Municipal corporation as sought by it by way of stamp duty to resolve the salary crisis.
