Mumbai police said that 53 roads will be closed for traffic, 56 roads will be made one-way and 99 roads will be closed for heavy vehicles on Ganpati Visarjan.
As Mumbai is gearing up for the Ganpati Visarjan on Sunday, state police have sent notification to maintain law and order during the immersion of Ganesh idols.
Police said that the city has 162 idol immersion spots, including Girgaum Chowpatty, Dadar, Juhu, Versova and Powai, and several of them will have CCTV cameras in place.
Mumbai police spokesperson DCP Manjunath Singe said Friday that 50,000 police personnel, including those from specialised units like Force One, Quick Response Teams (QRT), Anti-Terrorism Cells (ATC) would be deployed. The Mumbai police will use drones as well as a large network of over 5,000 CCTV cameras to maintain vigil during the immersion of Ganesh idols.
On Sunday, 3,161 traffic police and 500 wardens will be deputed to regulate traffic, Singe said. He added that 53 roads will closed for traffic, 56 roads will made one-way and 99 roads will be closed for heavy vehicles.

SOUTH MUMBAI- closure of roads
- Nathalal parekh marg will be closed Budhvar Park to Indu Clinic Jeenabhai Mulji Rathod Marg
- Jagannath Shanker Sheth Road will be closed from Princess Street to Portuguese Church.
- VP Road will be closed from C.P.Tank circle to Bhalchandra Company.
- BJ road will be closed from J.S.S. Road to M.K.Road.
- RR Road will be closed from Charni Road Station to Portuguese Church upto Prathana samaj.
- CP Tank Road will be closed from Madhav Baug to C.P. Tank Circle.
- 2nd Kumbharwada Road will be totally closed.
- Sant Sena Marg will be totally closed.
- 2nd Sutar Galli will be totally closed.
- Nanubhai Desai Road will be totally closed.
- V P Road will be closed from Cawasji Patel Tank to S.V.P. Road junction and its Jn. with Dr.Bhadkamkar Marg ( Lamington Road).
- Jagannath Shanker Sheth Marg (Girgaum Road) will be closed from Princess Street Junction to S.V.P. Road Junction. (Opera House).
- Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel Marg (Sandhurst Road) will be closed from its junction with Dr.N.A. Purandare Marg (Marine Drive) to its junction with Pandit Paluskar Chowk (Opera House) and further upto its junction with Raja Ram Mohan Rai Marg (Prarthana Samaj).

- Pandita Ramabai Marg will be closed from its junction with Dr. N.A. Purandare Marg to
- Nyaymurti Sitaram Patkar Marg (Hughes Road).

- Dr. S. S. Rao Road will be closed for traffic from its junction with Gopal Naik Chauk (Shirsagar Hotel) to Lalbaug Police Chowky.
- Dattaram Lad Marg will be closed for traffic from Chinchpokali Bridge to Shravan Yashawant Chowk, Kala Chowky.
- Sane Guruji Marg will be closed from Sant Jaganade Chowk/Gas Company Junction to Arthar Road Naka
- Dr. E. Borges Marg will be closed from Dr. B.A Road, Suparibaug junction to Palav Khanolkar Chowk.

- Ranade Road will be closed from its junction with N.C. Kelkar Road to its junction with Veer Savarkar Marg and towards Chaityabhumi.
- Shivaji Park Road No. 3 will be closed from its junction with Gokhale Road (North) to its junction with Nyaymurti Ranade Road.
- Shivaji Park Road No. 4 will be closed from its junction with Gokhale Road (North) to its junction with Shivaji Park Road No 3.
- Keluskar Marg will be closed from its junction with Gokhale Road (North) to its junction with Keluskar Road (South & North).
- Keluskar Marg (South) will be closed from its junction with Veer Savarkar Marg to its junction with Keluskar Road (North).

- Din Dayal Updhyaya, Marg ( Dumping Road ) Mulund (W) will be closed from Modela Junction to Ambedkar Chowk to its Junction with LBS Marg.
- Lal Bahadur Shashtri Marg, Mulund (W) north bound will be closed from Modela Light Signal Junction to Toll Naka. South bound will be used for both way traffic.

- Nathalal Parekh Marg, Colaba will be closed from its junction with Capt. Prakash Pethe Marg
- For Southbound and existing one way between Pandey Marg and Colaba Post Office shall be both ways.
- Rambhau Salgaonkar Marg will be closed from its junction with Shahid Bhagat Singh Marg to its junction with Nathalal Parekh Marg for West bound traffic.
- Mahapalika Marg will be closed for North bound traffic from CSMT intersection to Vasudev
- Balwant Phadke Chowk (Metro Cinema Junction). The North bound traffic will be diverted through Dr DNRoad
- The South bound traffic from Vasudev Balwant Phadke Chowke (Metro Cinema junction) to CSMT will be operated Oneway on Mahapalika Marg.
- Kalbadevi Road will be closed from its junction with Kika street to Vardhaman Chowk for South Bond Traffic.
- Shivdas Chapsi Marg will remain closed from Jinabhai Mulji Rathod Marg Junction to Noor
- Baug junction for South bound i.e.Only one way for North bound vehicular traffic from Noorbaug junction to Jeenabhai Mulji Rathod Marg junction.
- French Bridge will be closed for South bound vehicular traffic i.e. "No Entry" from Nyaymurthi Sitaram Patkar Marg (Hughes Road).
- Walkeshwar Road will be closed for vehicular traffic proceeding down the hill from Teen Batti to Band Stand (Except for BEST buses).
