Gandhian Tripurari Sharan, who was a close associate of Jaiprakash Narayan and took part in 1974 JP movement, died here after prolonged illness.
Sharan (85) died yesterday.
Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, who today went to lay a wreath at his residence this morning, said Sharan was a social worker who tried to spread the socialist vision of the Loknayak.
Sharan was associated with the Khadi Gram Udyog Samiti set up by the Gram Niran Mandal formed by JP and president of the state Khadi Board, the Chief Minister, who was also associated with the JP movement, said.
State JD(U) President Bashist Narayan Singh and other Gandhians also paid tribute to Sharan.
