Ganashakti on Saturday termed the DNA report that newspaper vendors, hawkers, and sellers were “refusing to keep” the CPI(M)’s Bengali mouthpiece as “baseless”. Ganashakti’s deputy editor Abeek Dutta, termed the report as “baseless”.

DNA stands by its report, which was based on inquiry and with quotes from several newspaper sellers from the backyard of Writers’ Building to Dumdum. The reporter also tried to contact editor Narayan Dutta and deputy editor Abheek Dutta on Friday, but was told that they were not in office.

Dutta said he could not believe that an effort had been made to contact them. “Yesterday, I was in office throughout,” he said, “So I don’t know who told you that I was not in office.”
