A US-Bangla Airlines flight from Dhaka to Kolkata reported a bird-hit while landing at the NSC Bose International Airport here on Monday. The incident took place at 10.30am when a Bangladesh plane landed at the airport, a bird crashed into a plane at the same time. There were 162 passengers in this plane. After this incident, the plane made an emergency landing.

When birds collide with airplanes that are taking off or landing, the results can be catastrophic but luckily all travellers were safe.
After landing, an inspection was carried out and no damage to the aircraft was found, an Airports Authority of India (AAI) spokesperson at Kolkata said.
The time of the arrival of the Dhaka-Kolkata flight number BS 201 was 10:19am. The flight departed for Dhaka at 12.05 pm, the spokesperson added.
Airport Administration has informed the West Bengal Government much earlier about the few restaurants near the airport that throws food and garbage. The waste products attracts lots of bird in the airport region which can cause a big trouble. To deal with such incidents, the airport administration has convened an urgent meeting today.
