Former SP of Yavatmal Abdur Rehman, Kartik Oak (SDPO Pusad), Chandansingh Bayas (former PSO of Pusad) and Shailesh Karhale (PI of Nanded) were booked under various sections of IPC yesterday following a direction from the court, they said.

Rehman is presently director of the police training centre at Solapur, they said.

President of National Human Rights Protection Council, Nilesh Ojha had approached Judicial Magistrate (First Class) of Pusad alleging harassment by these officials as he wanted to expose the corrupt police officers.

Ojha in his representation to the court had alleged the officers of misusing their official positions and implicating him in false criminal cases.

The court had then ordered Pusad police to register criminal offence against the erring police officers.
