The court of metropolitan magistrate GM Patel awarded three years’ imprisonment and a fine of Rs5,000 to four people in the Social Cooperative Bank theft case in Khamasa.
The four who were convicted are Sarfaraz Pathan, Abdur Rehman Pathan, Hanif Shaikh, all residents of Ramol, and Firoz Khan Pathan, a resident of Jamalpur. The fifth accused, Raju Laule, passed away recently.

According to case details, in 2006, during Diwali vacation all the five made a plan to loot the Social Cooperative Bank’s, Khamasa branch. On October 20, 2006 Abdur Rehman and Hanif Shaikh entered the bank premises by breaking the ventilator of the bank. 

Rehman and Shaikh then entered the strong room of the bank by breaking the exhaust fan. The two then stole cash worth Rs22.65 lakh from the bank.
