Samajwadi Party leader and former Uttar Pradesh minister Amir Alam Khan escaped unhurt when some unidentified persons fired at his residence here in the wee hours today.
 
The assailants, who came in a car, fired five rounds at the house located in Nazar Colony at around 2am, police said.
 
The bullets shattered window panes of the house with some of these getting planted in the walls of Khan's bedroom, they said.
 
Khan fired from his licensed pistol at the attackers forcing them to flee.
 
No one was, however, injured, police said adding a massive hunt had been launched to nab the attackers.
