BHUBANESWAR: K Ramamurthy, former Orissa chief secretary, passed away at the Sundaram medical foundation at Chennai on Sunday morning, according to information received here.

Ramamurthy, 80, a distinguished officer, held several responsibilities including member, board of revenue and vice-chancellor of the Orissa University of Agriculture and Technology (OUAT).

After retirement, he had been living in Chennai. Ramamurthy, who fell sick on October 11, was admitted into the Chennai hospital and was being treated in the ICU. 

He is survived by wife and four daughters.
