The residence and business premises of former DMK minister KKSSR Ramachandran were raided Wednesday morning for allegedly having wealth disproportionate to his known sources of income, an official said. According to the Directorate of Vigilance and Anti Corruption (DVAC), raids were also carried out at the residence of Ramachandran's close relatives. The raids were conducted at several places in Virudhunagar and Chennai. Ramachandran, the former minister for backward classes, termed the raids as politically motivated. The agency has raided the premises of former DMK ministers like D Duraimurugan, KN Nehru, TM Anbarasan, K Ponmudi, N Suresh Rajan, Pongalur N Palanisamy and MRK Panneerselvam this year.
