At least 22 persons were taken ill after consuming food in Panchiyavadar town of the district, police said.

After consuming "khichadi" and "buttermilk" at a relative's funeral rites function on October 14 night, the 22 members started vomiting and were rushed to Gondal Civil Hospital, about 39km from here, last morning, sources from the hospital said.

The patients were kept under observation till night yesterday and then they were discharged from the hospital, the sources added.

However, no complaint was registered with the police, police said. Doctors at the hospital suspect that a poisonous seed may be the cause of vomiting.
