"Nothing is as appreciable as voluntarily adapting to reforms, instead of reforms coming from outside," he said after laying the foundation stone of an additional court complex in Puducherry.

Moily said if the official working days are 210 a year, an additional half an hour of work every day would result in 21 more working days.

Madras and Kerala high courts are the only high courts to have increased working hours by half an hour each day in line with the decision taken at the recent conference of chief justices.

Moily congratulated chief justice of Madras high court HL Gokhale and all judges on increase the working hours.
