A five-year-old girl was abducted and raped by an unidentified person in Gurgaon on Saturday afternoon. Her internal organs have been badly damaged, but she is out of danger now, Archana Chauhan, an advocate deputed by the district legal cell, said.
The incident happened in DLF Phase-1 area, when the girl had gone to a feast along with her 12-year-old brother. There, a man lured her with more food and took her in his car. As the girl’s father learnt about her abduction, he immediately lodged a complaint at the nearby police post. The family lives in Sikanderpur village.
Around 3.15 pm, the police found her near pillar number 47 at the Dronacharya Metro station — two kilometres away from where she was kidnapped — with her internal organs badly damaged. She was rushed to the Gurgaon civil hospital in a critical condition. The hospital referred her to Safdurjang hospital, where she underwent operation for internal injuries.
The DLF Phase-1 police station has registered an FIR against an unidentified person under sections 363, 366A, 376 of IPC and the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act.
“We have issued a sketch of the perpetrator and announced a reward of Rs 50,000 for information about him. We have set up several teams to hunt for him,” the SHO of the police station.
About the victim’s brother, the only eye witness in the case, the police officer said, “He is with his parents and we have made a sketch based on the description of the accused given by him. We would ask him to identify the accused once we catch hold of him.”
