A total of five United Liberation Front of Asom (Ulfa) militants, including a woman cadre, of the banned outfit's dreaded 28th battalion, have been arrested here since Friday.

Two militants were picked up from Hengerabari area of the city during an operation by the police today and arrested, official sources said.

Both the ultras hailed from Amguri of Sibsagar district, the sources said.

Yesterday another three, including the woman cadre, were arrested from the Gandhibasti area here and a 9-mm pistol
along with ammunition were seized from them.

The three were identified. Two of them were identified as a militant couple also from Sibsagar, while another hailed from Sualkuchi near here, the sources added.
