A total of 10 suspected cases in Gujarat, including the five in Ahmedabad, were confirmed as H1N1 positive late on Wednesday night. With these 10 cases, the total number of swine flu patients in the state has gone up to 29. Test reports of 25 suspected cases are still awaited.

“All pending test results have come,” said state health secretary, Ravi Saxena.

“According to the results, 10 more people, including three women, have tested positive for swine flu.” He added that the 10 confirmed cases included five from Ahmedabad, four from Surat and one from Navsari. In Navsari, a 14-year-old boy had tested positive to swine flu.

Health minister Jaynarayan Vyas said 1,00,000 Tamiflu tablets and 250 medical kits for tests sent by the Central government had arrived in Ahmedabad for distribution in the state. The medical kits and the medicines would be provided to hospitals by district-level officers, the minister added.
