At least five persons were today injured in a clash between supporters of the ruling BJD and the Congress in Orissa's Ganjam district. The injured were admitted to a nearby hospital, where their condition is stable, police said. The rival groups used bombs, bottles and stones during the clash at Pitatali village, 30km from Berhampur, police said adding that forces were deployed in the village and the situation is now under control.At least five persons were detained from both the groups for alleged involvement in the clash, police added. It was the third such clash between the two political groups in the village in the last three months. The first clash had taken place on January 15, where at least five persons were injured while the second clash occurred on March 1, on the occasion of Holi, where four persons were injured.
