Five arrested within 12 hours of murder

Within 12 hours of a murder incident reported in Kishanganj area late on Saturday night, the local police arrested five persons for their involvement in the crime.

The accused were identified as Madhav, Raja alias Shahid Khan, Vishal and his two brothers, Babu and Raju Lodhi, all residents of Kishanganj area. Search for two others identified as Kishore and Ravindra was on.

The incident occurred in Santer village. The victim Rohit (22), son of Mahesh Lodhi had gone to participate in a religious programme along with his friends where they had an argument with the accused over their coming drunk in the programme.

The situation soon turned into a bloody fight and accused allegedly attacked on the victim with sharp edged weapons while his friends escaped to save themselves. The miscreants repeatedly stabbed youth in his legs and lower parts of the body before fleeing the scene.

By the time, the youth was rushed to the hospital; he died due to excessive bleeding. A case was registered at Kishanganj police station and the body was sent for autopsy.  Family members of the deceased accuse the murderers of illegally taking possession of their land. A brother of the deceased was murdered earlier. Later when the above miscreants' names surfaced in the crime, the police conducted a search at their respective houses but to no avail.

The police managed to nab them from their hideouts within 12 hours of incident.
On the report of deceased's relative, Shyam Lodhi, a case under sections 147, 148, 149 and 302 was registered against miscreants while investigation was on.
