In a horrific incident, two women were burnt to death in a raging fire in an apartment building in Bengaluru on Tuesday (September 21) afternoon after an LPG explosion. The video of the helpless woman calling out for help showed her being engulfed in the fire as there was no way to escape as the balcony where she was standing had grills.

The incident took place in Ashrith Aspire apartment at Devarachikkanahalli in southeast Bengaluru. The woman and her octogenarian mother died in the fire. The woman's husband reportedly tried to save them but was dragged out by the neighbours as he was also getting burnt.

Some other people also sustained burn injuries. Media reports have quoted residents as saying that more lives could have been lost if more people were present at the apartment at that time. But being afternoon, many were away for work.

According to New Indian Express, an eyewitness Raju said they were not able to go inside the apartment as the fire was huge. One of the neighbours rushed down screaming when she heard a blast, he said.
