An FIR has been registered against a BSP MLA in Gadwar police station here for allegedly beating up a villager during panchayat polls, officials said here today.
 
The FIR was registered on complaint of Karnesh Singh, who alleged that the MLA Ghura Ram beat him up yesterday.
 
The MLA has also lodged a cross FIR against the villager under SC/ST Atrocities Prevention Act, they said.
 
Police is probing the matter.
