National Conference leaders Farooq and Omar Abdullah have met PDP leader and former Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti. Mehbooba Mufti was released on Tuesday after 14 months of detention. Mehbooba Mufti was in custody since Jammu and Kashmir was declared a Union Territory on August 5 last year. Abdullah's father-son has termed this meeting as non-political. After the meeting, Omar Abdullah has said that it was a courtesy meeting, and there is no political motive behind it.

Significantly, after the historic decision to declare Jammu and Kashmir as a Union Territory, there was a lot of uproar about Farooq Abdullah's detention. At that time, Home Minister Amit Shah responded to this issue in Parliament. He said that Farooq Abdullah had not been placed under house arrest. He can leave at his own will.

More than a year has passed since Jammu and Kashmir was declared a Union Territory. Both the National Conference and PDP have vehemently opposed this decision. Recently, there has been a ruckus about Farooq Abdullah's statement about China. According to media reports, Abdullah had said, "As far as China is concerned, I have never called the President of China here." Our Wazir-e-Azam (Prime Minister) called him in Gujarat. But he did not like that, and he said about Article 370 that we do not accept it. And until you restore article 370, we are not going to stop. May Allah helps our people with this thrust, and Articles 370 and 35A should be restored. '

To this, BJP spokesperson Sambit Patra replied, 'In a way, Farooq Abdullah justifies China's expansionist mindset in his interview, while on the other hand, a traitor comments that if we get a chance in future, we will join with China 370." He alleged, citing statements made by Congress leader Rahul Gandhi earlier, "There is not much difference between Rahul Gandhi and Farooq Abdullah. Both are two sides of the same coin. '
