Abdul Karim Telgi, who had shot to fame after his name had surfaced in the multi-crore fake stamp paper racket is currently in a critical condition. He has been admitted to a hospital in Bengaluru.

According to the officials, Telgi is currently fighting for his life at Victoria hospital in Bengaluru. Telgi had shot to fame when in 2002 he had showered as much as the Rs 93 lakh in one night on one bar girl in a dance bar in Mumbai.

In July this year, it had come to light that Telgi, who was convicted in the counterfeit stamp paper scam, used to get special treatment in the Parappana Agrahara Central Jail in Bengaluru, Karnataka.  He was arrested in Ajmer in November 2001. Telgi has been suffering from diabetes and hypertension for over 20 years, besides other ailments.
