The Kerala High Court today directed police to expedite investigation of cases registered in connection with Muringoor Divine Centre, a Christian retreat centre and file a final report. The order was issued by Justice M Sasidharan Nambiar on a petition filed by K Venugopalan Nair of Alappuzha.Earlier, the Supreme Court has set aside suo motto registration of cases by the High Court and constitution of special team to conduct an enquiry to the allegation of irregularities against Muringoor Divine Centre. However, the Apex Court permitted continuing the cases, pursuant to the high court direction. The petitioner contended there is 'culpable delay' on the part of police in taking action in completing investigation.Earlier, the high court had suo motto initiated procedings against the centre and directed constitution of a special investigation team to probe the issue of a missing man, besides other complaints.
