Exit polls predict Tejashwi Yadav-led Mahagathbandhan to form next government in Bihar

If exit poll predictions are to be believed in the Bihar Assembly Elections, then Tejashwi Yadav-led ‘Mahagathbandhan’ is expected to form the next government in the state on November 10.

Major exit polls on Saturday predicted a clear advantage for Tejashwi Yadav-led ‘Mahagathbandhan’ over Janata Dal-United and BJP- led NDA alliance in the closely contested three-phased Bihar assembly election 2020.

According to Times Now-CVoter Exit Poll for the Bihar Assembly election 2020, Tejashwi Yadav's Grand Alliance is projected to win 120 seats compared to Nitish Kumar-led NDA's 116 seats.

Today's Chanakya also predicted a landslide win for the ''Mahagathbandhan'' with 180+ seats. A vote projection for the Bihar election by Today’s Chanakya predicted that the BJP-JDU netted 34% of the total votes polled, while the RJD-Congress received 44%. Other parties, including Chirag Paswan’s LJP, received 22%, it predicted.

Aaj Tak-Axis My India predicts big win for Tejshwi Yadav-led Mahagathbandhan. It predicts 69-91 for NDA, 139-161 for MGB and 3-5 for LJP.

The Zee Maha Exit Poll predicted 104-128 seats for NDA; RJD getting 108-131, LJP winning 5-8 and Others getting 3-6 seats.

According to ABP News-CVoter, Bihar is set to witness a hung Assembly or would be a cliffhanger. According to the survey, in the 243 Assembly seats, NDA is expected to get 104-128 seats, Grand Alliance to get 108-131 seats, Chirag Paswan's LJP expected to get 1-3 seats and Others to get 4-8. 

Political parties left no stone unturned to woo the state's voters. The dates for the Bihar Assembly elections 2020 were announced on September 25 by the Election Commission of India (ECI). 

The polls to elect a new 243-member assembly were held in three phases, keeping in mind the COVID-19 guidelines and social distancing norms. In the first phase, 71 assembly constituencies went to polls. 

As many as 94 assembly seats went to polls in the second phase, while in the third and final one 78 seats went to polls. The counting of votes will be on November 10. 

The term of the Bihar Assembly comes to an end on November 29.

According to the poll panel, there were 7.29 crore voters in the state, including 3.85 crore male and 3.4 crore female voters and 1.6 lakh service voters.

These were the first election held since the COVID-19 pandemic and the EC had taken additional measures to ensure that the polls are conducted while following the COVID-19 guidelines.
