Former Delhi BJP MLA Sahib Singh Chauhan passed away on Thursday. He was elected to Delhi assembly from BJP five times in a row. He was ousted from office in 2015, when AAP wave swept the capital and BJP was reduced to three seats in the 70 member assembly.

BJP leader Chauhan was suffering from cancer for some time now. He was admitted to a private hospital in the city. But despite best efforts from doctors, Chauhan passed away yesterday. He joined active politics in 1980, and held several district-level posts in the capital. 

In the first two terms, Chauhan represented Yamuna Vihar constituency and was elected from Ghonda in the next three polls.
