Elaborate security arrangements have been made in the seven Assembly constituencies in Bihar which will go to bypolls, in the first phase, on September 10.

Additional Director General of Police (hq), Neelmani said, "We have made elaborate security arrangements in these constituencies where all the booths will have regular presence of para-military and state police personnel."

The union home ministry has allocated BSF, CRPF, CISF Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP), and Sima Surekasha Bal (SSB) battalions for the bypolls, Neelmani told PTI today. There would be intense patrol between polling centres and close watch would be kept on trouble-makers on the polling day, he said.

Meanwhile, the dull and drab campaigning for bypolls to even assembly constituencies ended today. Chief Minister Nitish Kumar and his deputy Sushil Kumar Modi addressed several election meetings in these seats to campaign for candidates of JD(U) and its junior ally BJP.

RJD supremo Lalu Prasad and his LJP counterpart Ramvilas Paswan, during their campaign targeted the chief minister for his "failure on all fronts". Several union ministers of Congress including Salman Khursheed and Jitin Prasada and the party's incharge of Bihar affairs Jagdish Tytler sought votes for the party nominees.

The seven constituencies where bypolls are scheduled for september 10 are:Warisnagar, Kalyanpur, Bochaha, Chenari, Aurai, Chainpur and Ramgarh.
