An eight month old boy died at a nursing home here today after which his family members alleging medical negligence manhandled the doctor and staff.

The eight-month-old boy from Kamarpur village in Soro area, who was admitted to the nursing home following severe respiratory problem, died during treatment, police said.

The family members of the deceased child blamed the nursing home doctors for the kid's death accusing them of having neglected in treatment. They staged a sit-in at the nursing home demanding compensation.

They also allegedly manhandled the doctor and staff besides ransacking hospital office, the police said.

On getting information, police rescued the owner of the nursing home who is also a doctor and took him to the police station.

Nursing home staff said they had advised the child's family to shift him from the nursing home as the baby was in a critical condition and did not respond to the treatment, but but they did not pay any heed.
