In India, Eid al-Adha will be celebrated from August 11 and 12. Also known as Greater Eid, the occasion begins on the 10th day of Dhul Hijaah.

Eid al-Adha is one of the two auspicious occasions, the other one is Eid al-Fitr, and is considered the holiest of the two. People during the occasion buy new clothes, meet relatives, prepare good food and pray to God for a prosperous life.
