The east Delhi campus of Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University (GGSIPU) will be ready by November next year, Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia said on Tuesday after inspecting the construction site and reviewing the progress being made.

The east Delhi campus of the university will cater to 1,500 students and offer courses such as Bachelors in Architecture and Planning, Masters in Architecture and Planning, Bachelors in Design, and Masters in Design.

"The Deputy CM directed the officers and engineers that even if they have to work day and night, they must complete the project before the stipulated date of completion," an official statement said.

"Only 45 per cent of the campus area is going to be covered by buildings, those too will have vertical gardens. Ten per cent of the land will be for sports activities and 100 sq metre will be for parking," it said.

The campus will have an administrative block, academic block, sports block, auditorium and hostel facility for 270 boys and 180 girls.

Equipped with rainwater harvesting and an in-house sewage treatment plant, the campus will have zero sewage output.

Every building in the campus will have enough solar panels installed to ensure that the solar power generation compensates for all of the power consumption.
