4.0 earthquake in West UP, tremors felt in parts of NCR

After an earthquake of magnitude 4.6 was registered in Kofarnihon in Tajikistan at 7.05 am on Wednesday morning, the tremors were felt in several parts of New Delhi.
According to United States Geological Survey (USGS) map, the tremor was felt at 38.526°N 68.989°E and the depth is 10.0 km.
Shortly after, an earthquake was registered from Kandhala in Uttar Pradesh's Shamli that is about 90 km away from New Delhi.
Twitter was abuzz with earthquake posts seeking more information about the same.

Earlier in the month, a mild 4.0 magnitude tremor was felt in Kathmandu on February 16, in an aftershock of the Gorkha earthquake that devastated the country in April in 2015.
The quake with its epicentre located in the southern part of Kathmandu was recorded at 8.34 pm, according to National Seismological Centre.
