It was a case of a protector of the law being caught on the other side of the fence, and that too, for more than one offence. In a case registered with the Danilimda police station on Friday night, a head constable was caught by people when he was running away after kidnapping an 11-year old girl. To top it, the constable was drunk, as confirmed by the cops.According to the Danilimda police authorities, on Friday evening near Madu Apartment in the area, Pravin Parmar came and tried to lure an 11-year old girl into going with him. The girl in question is a resident of Mehndi Apartments in Danilimda. Parmar reportedly bought peanuts for the girl, and asked her to accompany him. He was drunk. When the girl, the daughter of one Ilyas Memon, had been missing for about an hour, people in the locality, alarmed by her sudden disappearance, started searching for her. Just then, someone spotted her with Parmar on a bike. Before he could escape on his bike with the girl, the residents chased the two and stopped the man, who was later identified as being constable Parmar.
