ISLAMABAD: The Lahore high court has allowed the Pakistan Film Censor Board to give a go-ahead for provisional screening of Bollywood movie Dostana in four cinemas of Lahore.

Countrywide screening would be allowed only after the full board reviews and okays it. The court had banned the film for its gay content.

But on Saturday, counsel for the movie’s distributor argued that the film, in which two straight men pretend to be gay to secure a place in the apartment of a girl they love, was not a serious take on homosexuality.
