You might remember when we recently spoke to you about the waiting list of death and salvation. Today, let us talk about the waiting list for the COVID-19 vaccine. There is a queue for the vaccine which consists of two and a half million people of the country so far. These are people between the ages of 18 and 44 who have registered to get the COVID-19 vaccine after April 28, and this number is increasing with every hour.

However, the point to note here is that none of these people have got a date to get the vaccine. And that's why we are calling it the waiting list of the vaccine. Now the question is that the registration is done but when will you get the vaccine?

Let us help you understand when you will get the vaccine but before that, you should know which states will not be vaccinating people above 18 from tomorrow.

The first state is Maharashtra, according to the government, the Covishield-making company, Serum Institute of India, has asked for time till May 15. Therefore, if this is to be believed then the Maharashtra government, before May 15, will not be getting the vaccine from the company. Maharashtra has asked for 7 crore doses of vaccine from the Serum Institute of India.

The second state is Delhi. The vaccination campaign will not start in Delhi from May 1 as well. Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal has said that if Delhi gets the vaccine by May 3, the vaccination will start. The Delhi government has ordered 3 lakh vaccines and will have to wait for the remaining 50 lakh doses.

Apart from this, Madhya Pradesh, Gujarat, Punjab, and Telangana are the states which will not be able to start vaccination tomorrow because these states do not own vaccines and the order given by the state governments may also take time. Rajasthan, Chhattisgarh, Karnataka, and Tamil Nadu have also made it clear that the vaccination of people above 18 years will not start on May 1.

The essence of all these things is that people who are eager to get their vaccination started from May 1 will have to wait to get it.

For the unversed, at present two vaccines are being made in India, the first is Covishield, and the second is Co-Vaxin. If we add the total production of both these vaccines, then our country is getting 7 to 8.5 crore doses of these every month, among which 15 percent of the doses were earlier being sent to other countries. The Central government has currently stopped the export of the vaccines. Keeping that in mind, now 7 to 8 and a half crore doses are being used in India only.

However, the question arises, is it enough? According to an estimate if India wants to vaccinate 80 percent of the country's population by the end of 2021, then 17 crore doses will be required every month. Whereas in the present circumstances, the total production of both vaccines is not even half of it every month. and this is the reason why we are witnessing a vaccine crisis in the country.
