1. PPF remains tax exempted; EPF interest post April 1 to be taxed
Clearing the air on taxing provident fund withdrawals, the government on Tuesday said PPF withdrawals will continue to be fully exempt from tax and only interest accruing after April 1 on 60% of the contributions made to Employee PF will be taxed. Read more here.

Refuting allegations over his involvement in the Airtel-Maxis scam, Karti Chidambaram, the son of former finance minister P. 3. Sexual Harassment Case: Delhi Police files chargesheet against RK Pachauri
Delhi Police on Tuesday filed a chargesheet in a court against TERI Executive Vice Chairman RK Pachauri for alleged sexual harassment and outraging the modesty of a former woman collegue. Pachauri has also been accused of stalking and criminally intimidating the victim with gesture or act intended to insult her modesty. Read more here.
4. Budget 2016: Tata Motors hikes passenger vehicles prices by up to Rs 35,000
Tata Motors on Tuesday increased prices of its passenger vehicles by up to Rs 35,000 with immediate effect to offset the impact of infrastructure cess proposed in the Budget 2016-17. "In line with the cess levies from the Budget announcement, we are increasing the prices of our passenger vehicles with immediate effect," a Tata Motors spokesperson told PTI. Read more here.
