Enraged over the robbery in a reserved bogie for the disabled in Danapur-Howrah Express on Saturday night, several handicapped persons, including kids, today staged demonstration at the Patna Junction, demanding adequate security while travelling in Bihar.

Around 50 persons under the banner of an NGO, 'Samarthan', assembled on the platform this morning and held a sit-in demonstration on the tracks. Rail traffic was disrupted for over an hour due to the agitation, East Central Railway sources said. They were protesting the alleged delay in arresting the robbers.

Their other demands included providing adequate security and safety in the bogies
reserved for them in trains in Bihar.

Armed men had raided a reserved compartment for the disabled in the Danapur-Howrah Express near Khusroopur railway station in the Patna-Kiul section and looted several cellphones, chargers, cash, jewellery and other valuables worth around Rs1.5 lakh.
