The MP, who is also the SAD's general secretary, said the assurance was given to him by Union Aviation Minister P Ashok Gajapathi Raju at a meeting in New Delhi this afternoon.

The flights will be started by Air India and all arrangements have been made, an official release quoting Chandumajra said.

This will be a "big" facility for Sikhs going on pilgrimage to the Takht Hazoor Sahib at Nanded in Maharashtra, the release said.

Chandumajra had earlier raised the issue twice in the Lok Sabha.
