Maintaining that terrorism has no religion or colour, BJP on Tuesday said that senior Congress leader Digvijay Singh's stand on Hindu terror will "weaken" India's efforts in the international arena to combat it.

Senior BJP leader Yashwant Sinha said Singh will learn about the impact when people will react to his remarks about Hindu terrorism.

"The UN resolution has said that terrorism has no religion or colour. Such statements by Singh will weaken the struggle India had in fighting terrorism internationally," he told reporters here.

Singh has recently stoked controversy with his comments that slain ATS chief Hemant Karkare had called him to inform about threats from Hindutva elements on the day of the Mumbai attacks in 2008.

He had earlier accused the BJP of attacking Karkare for investigating Hindutva links in terror attacks.

Singh had yesterday rejected the charge that he had weakened the fight against cross-border terrorism with his controversial comments on Karkare.

"Such criticism was made by those who feel hurt when the RSS name crops up in terror activities," he had said.
