Senior Congress leader Ghulam Nabi Azad on Wednesday "cautioned" people of Jammu and Kashmir against divisive politics and said development cannot be achieved by creating tensions and fissures in the society.

"The people are cautioned not to fall prey to the divisive machinations of political parties. We ask how development can be achieved by creating tensions and fissures in the society.

"It is Congress alone which can accommodate and satiate the urges and aspirations of all sections and regions of the state," Azad told a public rally in Billawar on Wednesday.

Without naming any party, Azad said that there are certain political parties which have perfected the art of "speaking in different voices at different places".

"They spoke in a different voice in Kashmir Valley and it is quite likely that they will change their tone once Jammu, Kathua and Samba go in for elections," he said.
