The Delhi government has saved over Rs 1 crore in the last one year by running the Delhi secretariat on solar power, a senior official said.

The 1 megawatt facility at the Indraprastha is covering 20 per cent of the Players Building where the headquarters of Delhi government is housed.

"We are planning to increase the capacity to three megawatts which will power the entire building," the official said.

"Solar panels at IP power station which provide 1 MW solar power to Delhi Secretariat, the first Secretariat in India to run on solar power," Delhi government spokesperson, Nagendar Sharma said in a tweet.
