At least seven people suffered injuries on Monday when a girder of Delhi Metro line crashed near Mohan Nagar in Ghaziabad. The injured have been admitted to hospital.

The statement issued by the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) says: The accident took place at an under-constructed foot-over-bridge at the Mohan Nagar metro station on the Dilshad Garden-New Bus Adda corridor.

The DMRC is verifying the details of the incident, the statement further elaborated. 

According to the reports, the chief project manager and the general manager/safety of DMRC have reached the site of the mishap.

The under-construction metro route will link Dilshad Garden in Delhi to Arthala metro station in Ghaziabad.
