The Delhi high court has issued a notice to a private school on a petition filed by a group of teachers for its alleged failure to implement the Sixth Pay Commission for teachers.Justice Kailash Gambhir issued a notice to the Directorate of Education, NCT Delhi, besides Guru Nanak Public School and sought a response by April 28. The court was hearing a petition filed by 41 teachers alleging the school has failed to pay the salary to the teachers as per the recommendation of the Sixth Pay Commission with effect from January 1, 2006.Their counsel Ashok Aggarwal argued the school has violated the fundamental rights of the teachers and despite representations to NCT government, the Directorate of Education has not taken any action against the school. Aggarwal also contended the inaction of the school is also against the Delhi Education Act. The court fixed April 28 for further hearing of the matter.
