Delhi-Gurgaon Metro trial run begins

Denizens in this satellite city will soon have the comforts of travelling in a metro train with the DMRC today beginning trial runs on the much-awaited line.Union urban development minister S Jaipal Reddy and Haryana chief minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda flagged off the trial runs from HUDA City Centre Metro Station.Delhi Metro expects to inaugurate services between Qutub and Hooda City Centre by the first half of May and extend it to Jahangirpuri by June.The trial runs on this section will cover a distance of approximately 11 km which will have stations at HUDA City Centre, IFFCO Chowk, M G Road, Sikandarpur, Guru Dronacharya, Arjangarh, Ghitorni and Sultanpur.Hooda said the Haryana government was planning to run a feeder bus service for the benefit of Metro users. He also asked Delhi Metro to prepare a detailed project report for metro projects in Bahadurgarh and Faridabad.
