NEW DELHI: The death toll in the serial bomb blasts that rocked Delhi Saturday has risen to 23, hospital authorities said on Monday.   

According to officials, while nine people have been declared dead at the Ram Manohar Lohia Hospital so far, six have died at Lady Hardinge Hospital, four at Jassa Ram Hospital, two in Sir Ganga Ram Hospital and two in Jeevan Mala hospital in Karol Bagh.

The series of five explosions Saturday evening hit crowded markets in Karol Bagh and Greater Kailash-I and the city's central business district Connaught place.

A group calling itself the Indian Mujahideen has claimed responsibility for the bombings.
