Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal has alleged that the development of Vishwas Nagar suffered because the BJP MLA did not let the AAP government work in the area.
Vishwas Nagar assembly constituency in Delhi was one of there seats the BJP won in 2015 elections that were swept by the Aam Aadmi Party. BJP's Om Prakash Sharma won the seat with a margin of over 10,000 votes as he defeated Dr Atul Gupta of the AAP.
Vishwas Nagar assembly constituency is one of the 70 Delhi assembly seats and is a part of East Delhi Lok Sabha constituency.
The BJP had reposed its faith on Sharma while the AAP had fielded a new candidate this time. Sharma was facing AAP's Deepak Singla and Congress' Gurcharan Singh Raju in Vishwas Nagar.
Vishwas Nagar assembly election result: BJP's OP Sharma wins by 16,457 votes
Om Prakash Sharma: 65,830
Deepak Singla: 49,373

Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal had alleged that the development of Vishwas Nagar suffered because the BJP MLA did not let the AAP government work in the area.
The sitting BJP MLA had not let the AAP government build mohalla clinics in the area and install CCTV cameras, Kejriwal alleged.
"The area has suffered a lot as the BJP MLA did not let the AAP government do work in the assembly constituency. If the AAP wins, I will personally ensure that the area is developed," the AAP chief said.
Delhi Assembly elections were held on February 8 while counting of votes were conducted on Tuesday, February 11.
The ruling AAP emerged victorious in the triangular contest with the BJP and the Congress. The party won 63 of the 70 assembly seats that went to polls on February 8. The BJP won seven seats while the Congress again failed to open its account.
The Kejriwal-led AAP had won 67 seats in the 70-member assembly in 2015 assembly elections, defying all expectations. The Congress failed to open its account in the assembly and the BJP was able to win three seats.
