"We today met CM Kejriwal and demanded from him to announce a permanent holdiay on the day of Baba Ambedkar's birth anniversary. Backward class had supported the AAP in Assembly elections and in view of this, the AAP government should respect their demands," Kondli MLA Manoj Kumar said.

He said there is no permanent holiday on Ambedkar Jayanti announced by the government. Every year, city government announces the holiday 10-12 days before after some people approach it.

Kejriwal had assured the MLAs that their demand would be considered, he said. In the 70-seat Assembly, there are 12 reserved Assembly constituencies in the capital.
