LUCKNOW: Congress on Sunday said it would take a decision on a post-poll alliance in Uttar Pradesh only after the result of the assembly elections in the state is known.

"I would tell you on May 11," Union minister Kapil Sibal said when asked whether the Congress would support a BSP government in the event of a fractured verdict after the polls.

The Congress leader, who was addressing a press conference here, rejected the BJP allegation that the UPA government was dilly-dallying on bringing Quattrochhi into the country.

He said the then NDA regime had failed to bring Quatrrochhi to India from Malaysia.

"The Malaysian court had asked for the reason behind seeking Quattrochhi's extradition from the NDA government but it failed to furnish any," he said.

Sibal condemned the police lathicharge on the Congress workers' rally in Deoria on Saturday evening.

He alleged the state administration was creating hurdles in the way of party MP Rahul Gandhi's roadshows.
